22nd World Scout Jamboree

Sweden 2011

Nine Scouts / Explorer Scouts and one Leader from the Isle of Man represented our Island at the 22nd World Scout Jamboree which took place in Rinkaby, Sweden, during the summer of 2011. They joined forces with Scouts from a Cheshire County to make a forty strong Unit, part of the 4,000 strong UK Contingent.

Over 32,000 young people camped, lived and worked alongside each other. They came from a variety of different cultures, backgrounds, and religions. Together they celebrated what unites them, and learned what they can do together to help build a better world.

The Leader from the Isle of Man was Roger Birtles, who is a Scout Leader with 1st Malew. The Scouts / Explorer Scouts that were chosen to attend were:
