Last night (Wednesday) the Peace Light from Bethlehem was brought to the Island for only the second time in its 29 year history. 5 young people from the Isle of Man’s Scout & Girl Guide Associations, each representing one of the older sections (Scouts, Sea Scouts, Explorers, Guides and Senior Section), returned on the Steam Packet with the flame. On Saturday will be a commemorative service at St. Mary’s Church in Douglas at 2:00 pm. At the Service of Dedication where members of the two Associations will take the flame and spread it to into their own communities – churches, old people’s homes, town halls, to anyone who would like to receive the Gift. Please wear full uniform to the service Saturday and the Service is open to everyone who wish to attend.
2 day candles will be available with the Islands unique Peace Light logo at a cost of £2.Tags: Peace Light of Bethlehem
