The Maverick Explorer Unit from Woking visited the island for their annual camp, camping at Mullin ny Carty.
One of the highlights of their visit was The Three Legs Challenge. In an email to Guy from the AESL of the unit Kevin wrote, “It was tough on the Scouts completing the Three Legs Challenge in four days, but by the time we were home whatever pain they had experienced was long gone from their minds and the achievement, the stunning scenery and assisting with the scoreboard was the primary things mentioned to their parents when being picked up.”
While here a number of the Explorer Scouts worked at the MGP Scoreboard with the local Scouts during the Saturday race. Their visit to the scoreboard after the race ended with the investiture of Thomas Newling-Ward.
Kevin would like to thank all of you and the amazing support we received from the Manx Scouts. “It surpassed my expectations significantly.”
The Mavericks already intend on coming back again in 2018.Tags: Mullin ny Carty, Investiture, MGP, Three Legs Challenge
