Sixty seven Beaver Scouts, and fifteen Leaders from eight Beaver Colonies, namely 1st Douglas Buggane, 1st Douglas Loaghtan, Marown, Onchan Tuesday, Onchan Thursday, Peel, Rushen and Santon, together with one Cub Scout, one Scout, one Explorer Scout, forty eight family members and three dogs took part in the Jamboree On The Trail (JOTT) on Saturday 9th May.
Jamboree On The Trail is an annual day for the World Scout Movement to hike together. All Scouts, whatever their age and wherever they may be in the world, are invited to participate.
This year’s Island Beaver Scouts’ JOTT walk took place along part of the Heritage trail from St John’s to Peel. The Beaver Scouts had great fun completing a quiz about natural and man-made objects they could see along the way as well as jumping in the many puddles that they encountered en route!
This section of the Heritage trail is also the third leg of the Beaver Scouts’ Three Legs Challenge which means that many of the Beavers on this walk also completed their Three Legs Challenge badges. These will be presented to the Beavers at their Colony meetings.
